Shipment Connector

Shipment Connector for Business Central Cloud

  • Released version: 5.7.0.0

[Feature] New Field Mask Setup for Postal Codes and Shipping Methods

Section titled “[Feature] New Field Mask Setup for Postal Codes and Shipping Methods”

A new “Field Mask” setup has been introduced, allowing you to define your own custom formatting rules for values such as Postal Codes and Shipping Methods before they are sent to the carrier.

What has been done:

  • Introduced a new “Field Mask List” page where you can set up custom formatting rules for Postal Codes and Shipping Methods
  • Postal codes are no longer automatically shortened by default — if a carrier requires a specific postal code format, you can now define your own masking rule instead
  • Previously, this shortening happened automatically for every shipment; now, until a rule is configured, both Postal Codes and Shipping Methods are sent to the carrier exactly as entered, with no transformation applied
  • This improvement is part of Shipment Core — a shared capability used by both the Shipmondo and nShift Webshipper connectors, so any rule you configure applies consistently across both

Usability notes:

  • Gives you full control over how postal codes are formatted before being sent to the carrier
  • No masking rules are applied by default — only set up the “Field Mask List” if your carrier requires special postal code formatting
  • Prevents postal codes from being unintentionally shortened, which could previously lead to incorrect deliveries in some countries

[Fix] Waybill and Weight Calculation Corrections

Section titled “[Fix] Waybill and Weight Calculation Corrections”

Several issues affecting waybill creation and weight calculation have been resolved.

What has been done:

  • Fixed an issue where the waybill was not always created correctly when a Sales Order was made from a Quote
  • Fixed an issue where the shipment weight was not recalculated after an item line was deleted from a document
  • Fixed an issue where customs value calculations did not correctly handle decimal numbers

Usability notes:

  • Waybills created from quotes are now reliably set up correctly
  • Shipment weight will now always reflect the current lines on the document
  • Customs declarations with decimal quantities or values are now calculated correctly

[Update] More Reliable Default Shipping Agent Service

Section titled “[Update] More Reliable Default Shipping Agent Service”

Selecting a Shipping Agent and its default service now behaves more consistently.

What has been done:

  • Selecting a new Shipping Agent on a Sales Order or Warehouse Shipment now automatically applies that agent’s default Shipping Agent Service and clears any previously selected Pick-up Point
  • Only one Shipping Agent Service can now be marked as default per Shipping Agent — marking a new one as default automatically removes the default flag from the others

Usability notes:

  • Prevents mismatched Pick-up Points from lingering after switching Shipping Agent
  • Makes it easier to manage default services, as there is no longer a risk of accidentally having multiple defaults for the same agent

[Update] Improved Navigation in the Warehouse Role Center

Section titled “[Update] Improved Navigation in the Warehouse Role Center”

Shipment-related actions in the Warehouse role center have been reorganized for easier access.

What has been done:

  • Moved the Shipment menu in the Warehouse role center to its correct location
  • Added a “Track & Trace List” shortcut directly to the Warehouse role center
  • The “Settings” shortcut now opens the Shipment Settings page directly in edit mode

Usability notes:

  • Warehouse users can now find Shipment-related actions in the expected place
  • Track & Trace information is now just one click away from the Warehouse role center

[Update] Continued Internal Code Quality Improvements

Section titled “[Update] Continued Internal Code Quality Improvements”

Further internal cleanup has been carried out to improve long-term maintainability of Shipment Core.

What has been done:

  • Removed obsolete, duplicate interfaces and an unused report that were no longer needed
  • Cleaned up legacy logic on the Shipment Settings page and in the Waybill Calculator

Usability notes:

  • No visible changes to daily workflows
  • Lays the groundwork for further improvements in upcoming releases

[Update] Ship-from Address Auto-Filled on First-Time Setup

Section titled “[Update] Ship-from Address Auto-Filled on First-Time Setup”

Initial setup of shipment connectors has been made faster.

What has been done:

  • When initializing a shipment connector’s settings for the first time, the Ship-from address fields are now automatically filled in using your Company Information

Usability notes:

  • Saves manual setup time when connecting any shipment connector for the first time
  • The pre-filled address can still be changed afterwards if needed

[Feature] New Address System for nShift Webshipper

Section titled “[Feature] New Address System for nShift Webshipper”

This change applies specifically to the nShift Webshipper connector.

The nShift Webshipper connector now supports an updated address-handling system, similar to the Parties system introduced for Shipmondo.

What has been done:

  • Added support for an updated address-handling system for Sender, Receiver, Bill-to, Pick-up, and Service Point addresses
  • Postal codes sent to nShift Webshipper now use the new Field Mask system instead of being automatically shortened
  • Ship-from address fields are now automatically filled in using your Company Information when initializing settings for the first time

Usability notes:

  • Ensures more consistent and reliable address data is sent to nShift Webshipper
  • No action is required — the new system is enabled automatically and standard shipping workflows are unchanged
  • Saves manual setup time when connecting nShift Webshipper for the first time
  • Shipment Core has been updated to version 5.7.0.0 — no manual steps are required upon upgrade
  • A new dependency on XtensionIT Core has been added to the nShift Webshipper connector (already present for Shipmondo since the previous release) — this is handled automatically during installation
  • Postal codes are no longer automatically shortened by default — if your carrier requires a specific postal code format, set up a rule on the new “Field Mask List” page
  • No breaking changes have been introduced in this release
  • The update is compatible with all supported Business Central versions
